Chapter Sixty-Five

Today I was going back to Pittsburgh. Sophie took an earlier flight, which kind of sucked but oh well. She and Jake were going to pick me up at the airport. I was fairly excited to go home, for two reasons. One was that I would be able to talk to Sidney, four days have gone by. Second, I would be hanging out with my best friend. And it would just be nice to get back to reality. Hamptons was a nice vacation but I needed to get back to life. I needed to get back to Sidney, even if he was back in Nova Scotia. I couldn’t help but think what Sophie said. It was true, I wanted a happy ending. I wanted to be in love in the movies, I did. I knew it. But, I still don’t understand why Sidney couldn’t do some romantic things now and then. I mean, I know that he has before. I mean he has taken me to a hotel for a romantic night. He has done so many wonderful things, but its still hard.

When I walked off the plane, I didn’t see anyone. It was kind of weird but I thought maybe my plane was just early, so I didn’t think much of it. I headed to get my luggage. While I was waiting, I called Sophie to see where she was.

“Hey, girl. Where are you?” I asked.

“Hey, we just pulled in. We will be there in like 5 minutes.” She said.

“Okay, see you soon.” I said.

The bags from our plane started coming out. I saw my luggage and I started to pick it up from the front. I was about to set it down when I felt someone help me. I just figured it was some person watching me struggle with the weight. When I turned around to see who it was, it was Sidney. That day, I got my Hollywood ending. As soon as I saw him, I just hugged him. It seemed like I didn’t let go for ages.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were back in Canada?” I asked. By this time everyone else left the area where we were standing.

“You were right. It was my turn to follow you. “

“But what are you doing here?” I said still in shock.

“Because I love you and I can’t get away from it and I don’t want to get away from it.” He said.

“I’m sorry about everything.”

“It doesn’t matter. I love you and you love me and now we are together.” He said.

“I missed you so much! I can’t believe I went that long without talking to you.” I said hugging him again.

“I picked up the phone so many times to call you or text you. I saw your mom yesterday and then Jordan and Jason were playing baseball or something in your yard. It was like everywhere I turned you were there.” He whispered.

“I love you so much, Sidney.” I said and he grabbed my hand and wheeled my luggage to his car.

“So when did you decide to stay?” I said once we got into the car.

“I was thinking about it before we even had the fight. Once you said about the whole following me wherever, I was mad.”

“Yeah, I’m sorry. I know you have a crazy life.” I said cutting him off.

“I was mad at first, then I started to think about it. You are right. Yeah, I do have a crazy life, but I also have the means to come visit you. Its easier for me to jump on a plane than for you. I mean I have money and I’m not scared.”

“I’m just still in shock that you are here right now.” I said smiling.

“So how long are you staying for?” I asked.

“Its up for negotiations.” He said looking at me.

“You know what we should do tomorrow?” He said.

“What?”

“We should go play a round of golf.”

“You’re serious?”

“Yeah, why not?”

“We usually don’t play things together, because you get so competitive.”

“It will be fun. Sophie and Jake could come too.” He said.

“Have you seen Jake lately?”

“Yeah, I saw him the day I got in. We talked for a little.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah, about you of course.” He said laughing.

“Shut up! I didn’t mean that!” I said.

“So where is Sophie staying?” Sid asked.

“That’s a good question. I guess in Jake’s room? I would think that’s where she would go, but I don’t know because are they even like together?” I said.

“Aren’t your parents going to care?”

“I guess not. She could stay in Jadyn and Jocelyn’s room, but I doubt she does.” I said laughing.

“Are you going to stay with me tonight?” he asked.

“Definitely.”

“Okay, good.”

“I want to go swimming.” I said.

“Your house or Marios?” He asked.

“My house, obviously.”

“Why did you say like that?”

“Because I know like you live at Mario’s and they are basically your family, but its not your house.” I said.

“Yeah, well hopefully I get a house here soon.” He said.

“Yeah right, you will never move out of Marios.”

“Why do you say that?”

“Because you love being around a family. You love coming home and not being alone. You also love the fact that Nathalie cooks for you.”

“I so can cook. What do you think I do back home?”

“Your mom cooks for you or you go out.”

“Okay that’s true, but I do cook.”

“What happens when Lauren or Stephanie get a crush on you?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean Lauren is almost 16, she obviously likes boys. And why wouldn’t she get a crush on you.. I mean look at you.”

“Cause I have known her forever.”

“Doesn’t change things.”

“Are you seriously saying you are jealous or threatened?”

“Definitely not jealous or threatened by a 16 year old, but Jadyn thinks your cute so obviously Lauren does.”

“Jade thinks I’m cute?”

“Obviously, she is a teenager!”

“I guess I’m just the shit.”

“Oh yeah, definitely. That’s it for sure.” I said laughing and he pulled in front of my house.
